Rev. John Miller

     Rev. John Miller was born on 4 May 1798 at Greenbrier Co., Virginia. He was a minister of local renown, known for his colorful and moving revivals in the 1830's and 1840's. He became an instructor in religious studies Fall 1851 at Emory and Henry College, Washington Co., Virginia. During his tenure he was highly regarded by his students, several of whom followed his passion for the ministry. He died on 3 July 1863 at Washington Co., Virginia, at age 65.
